Making the change to a rawist lifestyle can be intimidating to a beginner that is caught between really wanting to improve his/her health, but may be having doubts that they can actually live this way effectively. Well, as a former beginner rawist, I can certainly sympathize, so I thought of a couple really easy and tasty recipes that will help to calm down even the most hesitant beginner rawist and help to launch them into this great lifestyle successfully.

The first recipe involves sprouts which are a great protein source for the rawist diet. Because of the combination of nuts and beans, and a “good” fat provided by the extra virgin olive oil, this particular combination is a hearty and satisfying dish that will stomp out your hunger in no time! Earlier, I wrote an article that explained a very quick and easy method to ease a beginner rawist into sprouting. I will include the link at the end of this article for reference.

  • Combine- sunflower sprouts
  • Garbanzo bean sprouts
  • Lentil bean sprouts

Toss the sprouts in a bowl well, and to add more flavor make a dressing consisting of cold pressed extra virgin olive oil combined with freshly squeezed lemon juice. Toss well and enjoy!

The next recipe I’ve included is a favorite dessert of mine. I think a common misconception among those that aren’t rawists is that you have to give up yummy sweet desserts. Nothing could be farther from the truth! This particular recipe is so quick and easy as well as tasty, once you’ve given it a try, you’ll frequently find yourself making it!

  • Combine- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup fine carob powder
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup

Combine all ingredients and mix well. You can also use many different types of sweetners for this recipe, depending on your tastebuds. Agave nectar, as well as other fruit nectars are also great in this recipe. Chill for an hour and enjoy!

Becoming a rawist needn’t be feared. I have found that I have received many benefits spiritually, as well as physically from this lifestyle change. Its all been positive.
